That is what they would be calling Pine City if Lieutenant Al Wheeler could not track down the cold-blooded killer who was making a habit of strewing corpses all over town. The first murder was in the library of a big time real estate developer. When his head as bashed in, the politicians lost one of their biggest contributors. The second murder was in the living room of a too innocent housewife. She got shot between the eyes for telling the truth as she saw it. But the real killing was in the bedroom of a satin sex cat who gave Al a smoldering smile. And promises. Promises. She was an ex-call girl on sleeping terms with every shady operator in town. But in spite of his reputation with the ladies, Al turned her down flat. Was the fearless cop scarred off for once? Or was he just passing up the kicks to catch a killer?
