Crime Fiction Alphabet 2013: The Letter S

The Crime Fiction Alphabet keeps rolling along. We are currently in week 19 with the letter S. Kerrie over at her blog Mysteries in Paradise is kind enough to host this community meme. The rules a quite simple. By Friday of each week participants write a blog post about crime fiction related to the letter of the week. The post must be related to either the first letter of a book's title, the first letter of an author's first name, or the first letter of the author's surname, or even maybe a crime fiction "topic". But above all, it has to be crime fiction. This time around I will be featuring a Carter Brown title for each letter of the alphabet.

Carter Brown: S is for The Savage Salome

Danny Boyd tries for an encore with a sizzling soprano while the chorus auditions for murder

Cover By Grant Roberts
 Murder Goes To The Dogs
Finding a pet Pekinese's killer is not Danny Boyd's usual style. But when the owner is a gorgeous blonde opera star the romantic private eye gladly changes his tune. What starts out as a dog of a case soon turns into a three ring circus.

With
A midget manager trying to tame a six foot redhead

A muscle bound baritone doing somersaults for a wildcat soprano

And Danny Boyd juggling the triple-threat combo of danger, dames, and death.

  1. Scott - Somehow that Netherlands cover captures the whole 'Salome' thing (of course, so does the Australia cover), but I think I like the last one (the Horwitz) for the 'opera' theme.

  2. What a variety of covers. I like them all. And the story obviously went over very well, with all those editions.
