In July of 1958 an Australian author by the name of Carter Brown arrived in the United States. He was the creation of Horwitz Publications, Alan G Yates (1923-1985) was his real name. Yates started writing for them in 1951. He was very successful and Horwitz decided to pitch him to the USA. His first novel was published by Signet imprint of New American Library in July of 1958. Here we have the very first of his books, The Body, which was a rewritten from the earlier title, No Law Against Angels, from 1957.
