And The Undead Sing by Carter Brown

The Hit Parade

Mavis Seidlitz, blonde bombshell and detective extraordinaire, thought pretending to be Sophie Ventura, biggest singing sensation on the charts, would be a breeze. Especially when her fee was full partnership in a detective agency. But Sophie was popular with some of the deadliest weirdos, and after being kidnapped and rekidnapped, threatened, tattooed, and molested, Mavis decided being a superstar was not her dish. Even swinging with the rock group The Undead could not tempt her once she'd tangled with a creep like "The Zombie." Mavis wanted out. But was it already too late? Had she really become gangland's #1 target in their private "hit" parade?
