Scobie Malone Mystery

Sergeant Scobie Malone of the Sydney police is sent to London where he is to arrest the Australian High Commissioner James Quentin for the murder of his first wife. He arrives to discover someone is trying to assassinate the High Commissioner for his work at a Vietnam War peace conference. Quentin asks for five days grace to he can complete his work at the conference, which Malone agrees to. The person behind the assassination attempt is Madame Cholon, a Vietnamese crime figure. Two detectives from Special Branch are called in to investigate after an initial assassination attempt on Quentin. Malone eventually discovers that Quentin's first wife was actually killed by his second, Sheila.
