The 13th Spy by Valerie Moolman

The 13th Spy
by Valerie Moolman

Moscow is the hotspot for the "AXE" group's most explosive action

When an American CIA agent posted in Moscow is killed in an accident in Russia, and American Embassy records are in his briefcase disclosing top-secret recordings of Russian conversations, it looks like the American agent was spying on Russia. But when hallucinating drugs are found in his system, they are not so sure it’s an American plot, but decide to use it to force America to prove that it wasn’t; just in case it’s their pals the Red Chinese. Nick Carter is sent to Russia in a complicated maneuver disguised first as another agent Russia knows about, and then assumes the guise of a mole. When he first arrives he’s saddled with one of their top agents, to keep an eye on him. A woman, of course, but she is gargantuan, and has a sense of humor. Nick instantly takes a liking to her; he does find a Russian ballerina to have an affair with on the side. There is a secret Brotherhood of 12, consisting of Chinese agents, seeking to cause problems between Russia and America, while obtaining Russian secrets for themselves.
